These days, Crime thriller genre is becoming a favourite subject for Indian film makers. This week, another crime thriller movie is released, Aurangzeb. This movie marks as Arjun Kapoor's second movie after Ishaqzaade. The premise of the movie is good, but the execution is what that disappoints. Below average music, mediocre screenplay, half baked climax are some pitfalls of the movie. The movie revolves around Yashvardhan (Jackie Shroff), who deals in real estate in Gurgaon and his family. Yash's son Ajay (Arjun Kapoor) is good for nothing. Due to Yash's illegal works, DCP Ravikant (Rishi Kapoor) kidnaps Ajay and sends Vishal (Twin brother of Ajay and son of Yash) to Yash. As planned, Vishal starts revealing all secret info about Yash's business details.
After a while, things change, Vishal wants to save his father from being arrested. Will he be able to save his father? Atul Sabharwal, no doubt, pen down a good story, but he fails to transform it into an engaging movie. First half of the movie is slow and later half of the movie is good and engaging but again scatters while getting close of finale. Finale seems half baked / confused. Music of the film is below average.
As far as performances are concerned, Arjun Kapoor proves his acting ability. He portrays double role with perfection.
Rishi Kapoor is getting better and better with movies. He is too good in the movie. Jackie Shroff is good. Amrita Singh is effective. Sashaa Agha is wasted. Sikandar Kher is good.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is first rate. Bottomline is; Aurangzeb does not come out as expected. It is full of good performances (ONLY).
