Geethaanjali FDFS review | Mohanlal's Geethaanjali Review | Geethaanjali Boxoffice Collection Report

Mohanlal is playing the character Psychiatrist Dr. Sunny Joseph (the character he acted in 1993 blockbuster Manichitrathazhu) even though this film is not a sequel of Manichitrathazhu. Priyadarshan had earlier worked as one of the second-unit directors, along with Siddique-Lal and Sibi Malayilin Manichitrathazhu, directed by his close friend Fazil. Producer Suresh Kumar's and actress Menaka's daughter Keerthi doing female lead with Mohanlal.
STORY LINE
The movie begins with introduction of a young happy couple, Anoop (Nishan Naniah) and Anjali (Keerthy Menaka), working in Mumbai, who are deeply in love and are about to get engaged. Their happiness get destroyed when they get a phone call conveying that Anjali's mom Annamma (Seema) met with an accident in their home back in Kerala and is hospitalized. They take the next flight home. Here we are introduced to their home in Kerala, which is believed to be haunted with the soul of Geetha (Keerthy herself), twin sister of Anjali. The two decide to stay in the mansion and during that period, Anjali encounters several horrific encounters of a ghost which she believes to be Geetha.
In the flash back scenes, we get to know that Anjali in her school times itself is in love with Anoop, and with the similarity in looks, at some occassions, Anoop himself gets confused between Geetha and Anjali while  expressing his love. Like Anjali, Geetha too falls in love with Anoop which causes clash between sisters and eventually results in the suicide of Geetha by jumping off a rock to the sea.
Being haunted by the ghost, Anoop seeks advice of Nakulan (Suresh Gopi) who introduces him to Dr. Sunny Joseph, (Mohanlal) specialized in paranormal research and treatment. Then follows the events through which Sunny solves the mystery revolving around the haunted house and Geetha.

Acting of Mohanlal is awesome in it also.
On the direction role, Priyadarsan done his role perfect.
Music by Vidyasagar with Lyrics penned by ONV Kurup.
Good frames by Tiru.
Technical wise - Graphical effects and sound mixing is nice.
Blacks
Climax is expectable and is like a repetition that we already saw in several movies.
Average screen play, and also it be some sort of a copy of Priyamani’s telugu movie charulatha (Charulatha is also a exact copy of Thailand movie Alone) and some other movies.

Acting Wise Analysis

Mohanlal
There is nothing more to say about his excellent, he is superb. Mohanlal as Dr.Sunny gives a decent performance which makes him the best among other actors in the movie. However, his character could have been much more well molded .

Keerthi Suresh
According to her debut Keerthi as Geetha and Anjali is good. Some scenes feels as she is awesome in acting like Menaka.
Nishan
Nishan as Anoop somewhere disappointed in his acting and with his dialogue delivery. His expressions sometimes seems to be like, he is acting in a Drama.
Innocent
He made his back to industry absolutely awesome. His character (Thankappan Asahari) is make us laugh at parts.
Others
Madhu as Babychan, Ganeshan as Vasu, Siddique as Thambichayan, Swapna Menon as Mary and Nasar as Kadhalikattu Thirumeni have given out a good performance, But harisree asokan’s kochukuttadan is completely out-of-order.

Complete Verdict : An average Movie with an Above average Technical Excellents.

Rating : 7/10
