The movie focusses on the growing up process which every teenager goes through. The unrequitted love, jealousy, the pressure of growing up and choices everyone has to make, it deals with the every experience that an youngster goes through.
Purani Jeans has a decent concept on which a good movie could be made. But, unfortunately the story of the movie lacks coherency, flow and direction. The script is certainly undercooked and the characters are one dimensional. Director Bassu does try to highlight the emotions such as angst, jealousy and love that are central to the movie, but overall fails to make good movie.
The acting of the whole star cast is sub standard and inadequate to single handedly carry the movie forward. The music by Ram Sampath is also fairly average. In the nutshell, Purani jeans is a below average movie, which some teenagers might be able to identify with.
