At last he came to make new history. Pulimurugan, the big budget malayalam movie ever made, and much anticipated movie of 2016 getting a wide postive reviews after the first show of the release day.
The movie came to theater with a new record of highest number of fans shows ever before in malayalam.
Pulimurugan features Mohanlal and Kamalini in lead roles. This Vishak directed movie have so many amaizing stunt sequences choreographed by 'Peter Hein' and the vfx made by the team who made vfx for blockbuster 'Bhahubali'.
Mohanlal and team spended much longer time to get the Pulimurugan into theater. It have so many graphical sequences which need more perfection and took a long post production period. In few fight sequence with tiger made with the original tiger which is trained for such movies.
Only drawback of the movie is a predictable storyline. In the area of acting, stunt, vfx, direction, art all look good.
Mohanlal who essays the titular character, Murugan, is just fantabulous in his role. It is hard to believe that a 56-year-old is capable of doing such difficult stunt sequences with the same ease of plucking a flower. Take a bow, Mohanlal.
Kamalinee Mukherjee, who appears as Murugan's wife Myna, has nothing much to do in her badly written role. She miserably fails to impress with her screen presence.
Lal, who appears as Murugan's uncle cum best buddy, has played his character to near perfection. The actor deserves a special mention for his catchy one-liners.
Jagapati Babu, the popular Telugu actor makes a decent Malayalam debut as the antagonist of the movie. But the dubbing voice seems a bit out of place, which badly affects the strength of the character.
Actors like Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kishore, Bala, Sethulakshmi, MR Gopakumar, etc., have neatly played their respective parts. Makarand Deshpande and Namitha have been totally wasted in their unimportant roles. Vinu Mohan, who essays Murugan's brother, is just okay in his role and needs to brush-up his skills.
With hight number of Fans shows and highest number of screens in initial release 'Pulimurugan' is making good business and hopefully it may become highest opener of Malayalam industry. Expecting an Initial day collection of 4-5 Crores for this biggie movie from 325 screens all over India.
As per the latest report team is planning for a wide release with more screens in Kerala and a Telugu version of the movie in 300+ screens. And a wide release in GCC and other countries.
