A well packed suspense
thriller from a debutant director , Jean Markose. It keeping the viewers
engaged with suspense not revealed till the finishing stages of a film. Mostly
revolving around murder mysteries and making such kind of movies is not much an
easy task.
Jean Markose, a
debutant through Angels try to attempt and present such a murder mystery in a
nice way and he absolutely successful in his first attempt itself. However the
movie has taken some kind of inspiration from Jeethu Joseph's Memories in the
presentation style.
StoryLine
The story revolves around cracking of the cemetery murder case through a live TV crime and investigative show titled 3rd Eye in a popular channel Views 24×7. The show hosted by Asha Sarath as Haritha Menon brings Indrajith Sukumaran as Hameem Haider who investigated the case first and had to leave it midway due to certain mysterious circumstances. The movie focus on the revealing of the case and bringing the true picture behind a series of murder that shocked the people and police force.

Performance Analysis
As so many recent
movies, Indrajith made his presence on screen nicely. But as Hameem Haider ,
Indrajith did not had a meaty role to play.
Asha Sharath as a TV anchor
Haritha Menon was a good in her role and Joy Mathew as the priest (named
Brandhan Kathanaar) did his role nicely.
And all other supporting casts like Baiju as SP Ashok Kumar, Prem Prakash as Head of Production,Vijayakumar as Inspector Poly, Lakshmi priya chandramouli as Zaina, Parvathy menon, Dinesh Paniker, Aneesh G Menon, Baby Anni, Tharakalyan all are good and perfectly hold the suspence till the end.

Technical Analysis
Jean Markose has done a
great job on his debut attempt in the directorial department. Jakes Bejoy done music
scene and his background score was something notable that gave the feel for
each and every scene. Cinematography by Sujith Sarang was also well handled and
edits by Sreejith Sarang were convinced to make an impressive impact on
viewers. Screenplay Written by Jean Markose, Toni Tomy and Dialogues by Shabu
Kilithatil is the backbone of this movie.
The movie is produced
by Linu Issac, Hisham Basheer, Saju Azad, Maya Kartha under Cloud4Cinema
production company.
Bottom Line
By running time it is a
short movie under two hours and with a reasonably fast paced narration. This is
not a film with different treatment but the case is cracked in the backdrop of
a live crime show makes it something different from recent ones. Overall its a
Memories inspired movie that is definitely a watchable movie. And surely a
above average movie for all suspense movie lovers. Some how For suspense genre
movie followers who are frequently watching this genre from Hollywood, Angels
won't make you excited.
Boxoffice Expectations
The movie with a great
story and narrative way, reasonably decent run at the box office. Surely it
will be an another slow paced superhit on this year.
