Rajinikanth’s new movie
Lingaa got released today with overflowing viewers around the releasing centers
allover. As per the report from the releasing centers, today Lingaa make a new
box office record. Expecting a whooping box-office collection from the style
king.
Lingaa released in 3
Languages which includes telugu and hindi. All the 3 languages tamil, telugu
& hindi versions are released on the occasion of Super star Birthday, today.
Many of the Thalaivar fans started to call it as Lingaa day Decemeber 12, 2014.
Lingaa Starring Super
Star RajiniKanth, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha. It was directed by
K.S.Ravi kumar. Rajini is touted to play dual role in this film. A. R. Rahman
Composed tunes for this film While Cinematography was handled by R. Rathnavelu.
After the several
issues faced by Lingaa now its cleared everything by deposit 10cr by the
producer in Court for the settlement of story theft issue..
Lingaa is all about
building a dam in a village region. Rajini plays dual role in the film, as an
engineer Raja who wants to build a dam in a region to solve peoples problems
and as Raja’s grandson Linga.
Anushka who belongs to
the village finds Lingaa. She bring him to the village and Linga plans to rob a
temple in that village. In that time he knows about the problems faced by the
peoples over there and then decides to finish his duty, how he does that is the
rest of the plot.
Performance Analysis
As like all Rajini
movie, a complete one man show. Rajini was at his best, his energy levels and
dialogue delivery will be a treat for his fans, his getup looked odd on screen
for few scenes, but leaving the film’s fate aside Super star’s performance
especially in Raja’s role is superficial and Lingaa’s role boost up the power
pack style performance. Anushka was nice looking but somewhere styling was
mismatch for her, Sonakshi sinha, a newbie in south films, was misfit in the
role. And she seems not comfortable with the local language.
Brahmanandam’s comedy
was pale, Santhanam entertained at places, there were many artists on
screen including Jagapathi Babu, none of them created impact on the film.
Technical Analysis
The movie is directed
by KS Ravikumar. Music by AR Rehman was nice, Mona Mona song were very much
impressive, BGM is also upto mark, a lot was expected from him especially after
Shivaji and Robo.
Cinematography by Ratnavelu
is good. Editing Samjith not up-to the mark.

Box-Office Report
Eros International had bought the film from
Rockline Venkatesh for Rs.200 crore (US$32 million),
which includes theatrical and overseas rights for all languages. The satellite
rights of the film were purchased by Jaya TV for Rs.32 crore (US$5.2 million)
movie also releasing in United Kingdom, Canada, Australia on 12 December 2014.
Releasing over 5,000 screens all over the world.
Bottom Line
Except Rajini style,
Linga has nothing to offer new. Routine story and the same action packs. Well it’s
a power-pack entertainer, but fails to full fill the high expectation for a birthday
party.
