The film has completed 20 days of run and is still going strong in majority of the centres. Oppam, after its release, has broken many box office collection records. Take a look at some of the records eclipsed by this Mohanlal starrer.
The film has been declared as the biggest hit of this year, so far. The film collected close to 24 Crores in 15 days and broke the collection record of Nivin Pauly starrer Jacobinte Swargarajyam.
Oppam went on to collect 12.6 Crores in its first week of run. This is now a new record and previously it was held by Premam, which collected 10 Crores in its opening week.
Oppam became the fastest movie to cross 10-Crore mark at the Kerala box office. The film crossed 10-Crore mark just within 6 days and thus eliminating the record held by Premam, which took 7 days to cross 10 Crores.
Oppam went on to break another record held by Premam. The film is now the fastest to cross 20-Crore mark, by reaching the figures just in 11 days. It took 14 days for Premam to reach the 20-Crore mark.
The film has set a new record in the number of releasing stations as well. Reportedly, Oppam got released in 119 centres in various countries in Europe, on September 23, 2016.
Now we need to wait to see that is it will break Premam or Drishyam box office collection. Anyway the box office king Mohanlal’s next biggie release “Puli Murugan” is scheduled on October 7. And rumors spreading around like the movie is getting released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi and later a 2:30 hr version in English as well.
